Hi, I’m Laura — the heart behind Laura’s Ledgers & Co.

Rooted in a love for numbers and a deep respect for structure, I help Latin-owned and creative small businesses feel confident and empowered in their finances. Based in Houston and raising two incredible boys, I’m a numbers nerd with a creative soul—committed to helping entrepreneurs build something real, sustainable, and joyful through clarity and care.

My story starts with my immigrant parents, who built a business from the ground up through grit, determination, and long hours. Watching them work hard to provide for our family, I quickly learned the value of structure, resilience, and pride in your work. I began working in the family business filing paperwork in 2007 with a typewriter at my side (yes, a real one), slowly working my way up through roles as a file clerk, office clerk, and accounting clerk. Today, I’m the accounting administrative assistant—and my mom, who owns the business where I first started learning bookkeeping, is now one of my first official clients through Laura’s Ledgers & Co.

In the process, I discovered how much I genuinely enjoy the behind-the-scenes work that keeps businesses running—especially the financial side that so many business owners avoid. That passion led me to get certified in accounting and bookkeeping to help our business run more efficiently. Now, I bring that same skill set, structure, and heart to other Latinx and creative small businesses who deserve organized financial peace of mind and growth with confidence.

I created Laura’s Ledgers & Co. as a way to blend structure and soul—to offer reliable, grounded bookkeeping support to hardworking entrepreneurs who just want to feel in control of their money. I believe clear books = peace of mind, and that every business owner—regardless of background or income—deserves that kind of clarity.

When I’m not reconciling spreadsheets or organizing receipts, I’m balancing life as a mom of two amazing boys. I spend my downtime dancing around my apartment, singing to my sons, or journaling by candlelight. As a mom and a business owner, I understand how valuable time and clarity really are. That’s why I help other entrepreneurs simplify their finances—so they can focus on what matters most.
